Future Certification Considerations

Working draft

This page renders the current awoss working draft. It is not a released standard, certification program, compliance framework, legal analysis, endorsement, or public conformance claim.

This section is informative only. It describes possible future assurance directions without creating a current certification program.

13.1 Current State

No awoss certification program exists. No organization, product, runtime, workspace, skill, tool, connector, or implementation can currently be certified under awoss.

13.2 Possible Future Assurance Path

A future certification or validation path would need, at minimum:

  • one or more released profiles
  • stable normative requirements
  • applicability rules by system boundary and assurance level
  • minimum evidence packets
  • validation procedures
  • reviewer independence expectations
  • reassessment cadence
  • expiration or renewal rules
  • nonconformance handling
  • public claim rules
  • governance and dispute handling

13.3 Possible Assessment Objects

Future assessment objects might include:

  • a scoped agentic workspace system
  • a runtime platform configured for a named boundary
  • a high-impact agent workflow
  • a skill or connector source program
  • an evidence-generation or validation process

The default assessment object should remain the scoped agentic workspace system. Component-level assessments should not imply that the broader workspace is covered.

13.4 Possible Evidence Package

A future evidence package might require:

  • scope record and inventory
  • owner matrix
  • control applicability matrix
  • implementation state matrix
  • evidence state matrix
  • policy and configuration exports
  • provenance and source-trust records
  • high-impact action receipts
  • approval, denial, and exception records
  • validation and red-team summaries
  • incident, rollback, or emergency-stop exercise records where applicable
  • claim-limit statement

Level 3 packages may require stronger independence, retention, historical reconstruction, and tamper-evidence expectations.

13.5 Certification Claim Guardrail

Future certification discussions must not weaken the current claim guardrail: until released profiles, governance, validation methods, and assessor rules exist, awoss remains a profile-first candidate control, crosswalk, and evidence model rather than a certification program.
